Mixed cultures and questions about where home is often arise in the themes of my paintings of people. Often they are women as strange creatures with extraordinary behaviours. I make some statements in art about life struggles to combine work, relationships and having a child. My paintings generally concern my personal perception about the world. Sometimes I show traditional Dutch clothing in my paintings or there are themes based on restriction of individuality. My work finds depth in my personal contradictory feelings: being born of one of triplets and thus being material for comparison while, on the other hand, a bond and feeling of consisting of more then one person. My works are not growing in the direction of the expected aspect
