Khaled Ramadan is a curator, art historian, archivist and video maker. His fields of specialty are visual culture and communication, and the history of visual art, film and culture. He is a curator and consultant for the Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art, NIFCA, Helsinki. He has been appointed several times as a judge for a variety of committees in Denmark, Finland, Spain and China. He is the founder of the Middle East Video Channel in China, 2008; the Made in Video festival for the Film Institute in Copenhagen, 2007; the Coding-Decoding documentary festival at Nikolaj, Copenhagen Art Center, and Museum for Contemporary Art, Roskilde; the Video Festival Not on Satellite for video and experimental documentary at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina SofÃa, Madrid, May, 2007. He has also curated "˜From the Middle East with Love', Santiago de Compostela, Spain (2008), and the European Biennial Manifesta 8, Murcia, Spain (2010-11)."¨"¨In 2009 Al-Jazeera TV produced a documentary about Ramadan's activities and achievement."¨ In 2009, Ramadan was given the Achievement Award of the 11th Cairo Biennial for his film Wide Power."¨Ramadan is a member of the International Association of Curators (IKT) and is a special advisor to the Danish Art Council, Ministry of Culture.
