2026 - the 100th Anniversary of Famed Route 66. First established in 1926, U.S. Highway 66 stretched from Chicago through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, ending in Santa Monica. With automobile travel beginning to boom, this became an important route from the Midwest to the Pacific coast with many unique attractions dotting the landscape. As it became popular with drivers, the highway itself became legendary worldwide thanks to music, movies and TV shows.
