FIRE, EARTH, AIR & WATER The Elements - the ancient beliefs about the fundamental types of matter expressed in their classical forms as fire, earth, air, and water. Ancient cultures in Egypt, Babylonia, Japan, Tibet, and India had similar lists, sometimes referring in local languages as wind and the fifth element as void. These have been executed using my knowledge acquired when studying the conservation of frescoes and wall paintings, specifically the chemistry behind binders and pigments. Using various additives and binders to apply the paints, plus an understanding of pigment weights and how they react to each other - results in some amazing effects!
