The City series

The City series was born as a series of very playful, small-scale experiments using oil paint left over from working on larger pieces. I became fascinated by the seemingly random and chaotic process of applying paint in improvised compositions and decided to continue working on the series, with the idea of the cityscape as a loose reference. These pieces are an extension of my interest in a geometric language executed with heavy oil impasto.
