"Dessert Grandma" aka The Desert

Expansive desert landscapes and fascinating details. Many people think of the desert as an empty wasteland. Hopefully this collection of photographs will prove them wrong. STORY TIME: Before moving to Las Vegas we'd pack up the dogs and drive down from Washington State to visit my wife's parents in Phoenix, Arizona. The very first time we did this, we hit the desert just after a passing rainstorm. We cracked the windows of the car and were instantly assailed by the vibrant fragrance of a wet desert. Our dog's sniffers went wild breathing in the wonderful foreign smells that were billowing through our windows! From then on, anytime we drove into the desert our dogs just knew that we were headed to "Dessert Grandmas" house :) Yum!
