Mid-Century UFOs

I started working on the series Mid-Century UFOs toward the end of 2019. Initially, I wanted to create pictures of phony UFO sightings as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to sci-fi B movies and newsstand tabloid accounts of flying saucers from the 1940s to the early 1960s. Most of the pictures were shot on film using vintage cameras. I created the color photos using an antique color photography process dating back to the turn of the 19th century. I drew the UFOs from imagination by hand using a pen and tablet. I merge the drawings to the scenic backgrounds in software.
