The Sinistry/ The Liberation suits

The Sinistry is a collaboration between fine artist Bert Gilbert and fashion designer Izzet Ers. A creative and emotional dialogue between Gilbert’s energetic artwork, focused on decoding layers of subtext hidden within conversation and Ers’ response via painstakingly intricate stitch-work and appliqué. Their partnership is inspired by jungian concepts of psychoanalysis, seeking to explore and represent the union of the male and female; a so called ‘syzygy’ and the resulting alchemy that can be obtained in this union.
