Shadi Collections

This series was created while in residence in Washington, D.C. summer 2009. The paintings were inspired by Middle Eastern tapestries hanging on the wall in a friend's home. The challenge was to create a coherent series of work based on these patterns. While i would consider this work non-objective, shapes and colors combine to suggest animal forms, street scenes, floating on the ocean, looking in to deep space.
