Heather-Jane Burgess

I was born and raised in Croydon which is south of London and I continue to live in the area now. My mother is an art teacher and my father is an art lecturer. I have always loved and been fascinated by art and music. I continue today to be endlessly inspired by both of these.I am fascinated by the interplay of colour, movement and shapes. I am inspired by music and people. I like to try and capture part of a person in my painting of them, maybe a part they didn`t even realise they had. I love working in mixed media (I hate working under constraints) and love the freedom to mix everything together. I am currently working towards my second exhibition and constantly on the look out for new inspirations and commisions.

I was taught art technique and appreciation by my mother who is an art teacher and succesful watercolour artist and my father who is an art lecturer. I also attended private workshops and classes to learn life drawing and watercolours. I now regularly run my own art workshops, do freelance art and design work for bands and produce paintings on a commision basis. ,
