Born in 1979 Lives and works in Istanbul Gökşen Parlatan is a visual artist based in Istanbul, Turkey. She works in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, and sculpture, to explore themes of identity, memory, and the human experience. In her artist statement, Parlatan writes: "My work is about exploring the human condition and the complex ways in which we experience the world around us. So I make art in different styles and always improving my techniques as much as my abilities can go.
