ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Instant film collage with sheet music and paint applied to a wood panel. Instant film emulsion transfer is a process that involves removing the chemical "skin" of the photograph from it's protective housing and applying the skin to a permanent surface. Characteristic qualities of the transfer process include organic folds of the image on the surface, tears, image stretch and a subtle hazy sheen -- all qualities that give each unique a piece an ethereal, other-worldly aesthetic.

My artwork is inspired by my interests in hiking, travel, literature and poetry, religion and art history. The art of Marc Chagall is my all-time favorite. His works constantly speak to and inspire me. My paintings are equal parts memories and dreams-- both fact and imagination suspended in paint.
