I'm a big fan of paper art, so I found this beautiful and surprising portrait of Madonna would be interesting to do : I was intrigued by the original picture from Herb Ritts since Madonna looks very peaceful and disciplined. But her hair tells a different story !
To get closer to a photography just using scalpel and paper, here is my challenge through this work.

I've used a scalpel, glue and 7 different sheets of paper to create this unique portrait. Blue was the color that attracted me and I've found out later that this portrait was realized during her "True Blue" period... What a coincidence !
People often struggle to realize that this is actually made out of paper... So here is the process ^^

What could be called "paper cutting art", I've discovered it by chance, in 2005, when I was trying to find out why I've never really got interested in collage before. I realized that I could only associate collage with surrealism, abstraction but never with realism. I thought about a way to create a realistic picture just with color paper, a scalpel and glue. Within a few months, I improved a lot my technique before focusing rather on my job and discovering the world. In 2016, after years of travelling or working in different places from New Zealand to South America, teaching beauty and cosmetiques from beauty school to prison, I feel now ready to get back to my old passion and share it with the world.
