Alba Escayo was born in Asturias, Spain in 1981. She lives and works in Madrid. Travelling and discovering new places is an inspirational force in her work. Her work is present in museums, public, and private collections. Escayo has been selected for many art residencies and collaborated on international projects. Escayo has had several solo and collective exhibitions throughout Madrid, Singapore,Balkans, France, and Portugal, among many other venues. Escayo’s paintings are produced in a wide-range of forms, from little postcard formats to large wall-sized creations that use acrylic, oil, ink, and other mediums in combination. The paintings have a textured, collaged, and vibrant energy. In these works, the natural world often interacts with the artist’s world: color bursts, hidden text, line, and space combine into an explosion of life. In addition to painting, Escayo also works with photography and new media. Since 2012, she has been actively exhibiting in Singapore and collaborating with local artists.
