" Buraca Aunts" Collage

This work is part of a series of 15 and is inspired by real characters. In a certain way, it portrays a world of superficiality, exaggeration and wildness populated by social climbers , that at all costs are perceived swerving among them in order to occupy the first place of the most cheesy of them all. I would like this work to be seen as a reflection on human vanity and a mirror of how ridicule is to be ridiculous without having the slightest notion of that. This theme was chosen by me for being a very current and emerging on the so-called western societies, opting for a kind of "baroque" style and profusely overgrown that perfectly blends with the characters it portrays. The basis of the composition is always the watercolor, on which pieces of magazine paper are glued in order to define and characterize the character, being finally finished with ink of china, which isolates chromatic zones more or less close or not.
