Burka Collage - Limited Edition of 3

This piece is a visual exploration of contrasting identities, gender roles, and cultural perceptions. The juxtaposition of the veiled women against the nude male figure is a deliberate contrast, aiming to provoke thoughts on how bodies and identities are viewed and treated across different societies. The niqab-clad women represent a certain kind of cultural and religious identity that evokes modesty, while the exposed man in a bold, vulnerable stance contrasts sharply with those ideals. I wanted to create a conversation between these visual elements, particularly on the themes of objectification, power, and visibility. The neon lines and abstract geometric shapes reflect a modern world caught between tradition and change, with the peacock symbolizing beauty, vanity, and pride. The flowers on the side introduce a sense of delicacy and natural beauty into the otherwise striking and provocative composition. This work was inspired by the ongoing dialogue about gender, identity, and how societal standards shape our perceptions of both the feminine and masculine forms. Through surreal elements and bold contrasts, I hope to invite the viewer to reflect on their own assumptions and the cultural constructs surrounding appearance and representation.
