Growing up I was scared of the dark, as I used to tell my Dad "I'm not scared of the dark, I'm scared of what's in the dark!"

It's a common fear for kids and some of us grow out of it - or pretend to - for others, we carry our childhood with us all our lives.

This work is a classic interpretation of the danger of the forest at nighttime, the scary things that lurk in the shadows.

If you look closely, you'll see a mischievous spirit at the base of one of the trees.
