Eye of Joy Collage

The central portion of the artwork began as digital art. A series of photographs were merged through the digital medium and blended, painted, layers and more. They were then used as the base canvas in which another layer of painting began in both acrylic and then encaustic as well as a collaging in of semi precious stones for their energetic properties. This mixed media piece achieved the depth and texture possible only through a merging of mediums. It is thought that hummingbirds carry the energy and vibration of joy on their wings. I wanted to create a piece that embodied the energy of joy. I wanted to express that if we had only joy in our hearts, surrounding us, and present, we would see everything with eyes of joy. Our lens or filter would be altering all we laid eyes upon. This piece is a blessing, the blessing to have the eye of joy and see joy wherever you look and in all you do. Garnets, jade, quartz and pearls are used in the creation of this one of a kind piece for their energetic properties. QUARTZ is a receiver, amplifier, conductor and generator of energy. Used for meditation, transformation, stability, knowledge, protection, healing, and enlightenment. It increases the auric field. JADE - Brings peace, calm and stabilizing effect on the body. This stone is great for courage, clarity and tranquility of the mind. It erases stomach and digestive disorders. PEARL - The pearl has been known as a “stone of sincerity”, bringing truth to situations and loyalty to a “cause”. It has been used to inhibit boisterous behavior and to provide a reflection of the self such that one may see the manner in which one appears to others. It has been used in the treatment of digestive disorders, and to relieve conditions of biliousness and bloating, to treat the soft organs of the body, and to increase fertility and ease childbirth. Vibrates to the number 7. GARNETS - A stone of health extracting negativity from the chakras and transmuting the energy to a beneficial state. It enhances ones internal fire, bringing the creative powers to the state of implementation. It allows one to recognize inherent responsibility with respect to personal freedom and patience, in sighting personal magnetism and cooperation in instances of change. Garnet is a stone of commitment to purpose, to others and to oneself.
