Frozen Collage

This encaustic mixed media piece captures the frozen emotions surrounding the Syrian refugee crisis. The angel of Mercy lifts a fallen child up to the light. Fear grips the refugees displaced as well as those where they may go. The angel of mercy also a messenger of light is symbolic of breaking though the frozen emotions that keep humanity from feeling the love and light and from doing loving things. The chains cannot contain the Angel of Mercy; the light is stronger and more powerful than any man made limitations. Faces and moments in time are trapped in the ice, frozen until they are thawed and released. As they release, they assimilate into the present, into modern culture and we again feel the unity we feel we are one. The image of one body, the angelic body contains all religions, all genders, all humanity. The words love and mercy are laid over the entire image as a prayer and mantra according to the Hado principles discovered and developed by the late Dr. Masaru Emoto. Quartz pebbles were used to energize the art. Quartz is a receiver, amplifier, conductor and generator of energy. Quartz can be used for meditation, transformation, stability, knowledge, protection, healing and enlightenment. It increases the auric field.
