For me, the image holds sacred, iconographic value. The foundation of my work is built on a perspective that seeks to explore the powerful and confident presence of women in society, utilizing the collage technique. I focus on images of women who are bold, self-aware, and at peace with their identity and gender, free from the pressure of societal roles, to strengthen their place in the collective memory. My work centers on the evolution of women in society from past to present, the pressures they face in their individual worlds, and their struggle for existence, reflecting their journey of discovering their own strength, embracing emotional wounds, and moving away from societal expectations. The collage technique, which I specifically use in my works, creates a research space where possibilities and experimentation take center stage, exploring emotional associations. In these collages, which depict the repressed, unexpressed side of women that seems to be in a trance, various secondary elements come together to evoke different associations for different individuals: fragments of old paper featuring notes that highlight the aesthetics of calligraphy, texture-emphasizing elements, sections of the body, and female figures usually lacking eyes and hair are cut from magazines.
