About The Artwork
24x20 Mixed Media Collage featuring my photography in the center surrounded by found paper ephemera. The edges of the canvas are wrapped in metal tape to give it a finished look to hang as-is. However that won't affect framing if you'd choose to do so after purchase. This piece started with the central photograph and was inspired by the first stanza of the poem "Poet's Town" by John G. Neihardt: 'Mid glad green miles of tillage / And fields where cattle graze, / A prosy little village, / You drowse away the days.

I grew up driving the back roads of the midwest looking for abandoned places to photograph. I was nicknamed "The Gallivanting Girl" because of this, and subsequently that's what I named my art business. I have always been drawn to an eclectic mix of art, agriculture, and anything vintage and worn. My art seems to reflect these things. I currently live on a small farm in rural Indiana with my husband and daughter as well as a menagerie of animals including a small herd of Brown Swiss cattle. I enjoy making art in several different mediums including photography, painting, collage, printmaking, and drawing.
