inspired by the cue of "origin stories" for the 2019 edition of the girlboss rally i made this piece with these words to accompany it — i come from light. we all do. i got lost along the way. we all do that too. the world as it is primes us to. through reflection x stillness x awareness x opening i’m making my way back home. to the light. to abundance x expansion x truth x love — to essence. my work is make of found contemporary photography using portraits that resonate with me based on physical and emotive representation. from there i digitally abstract forms, loosely and expressively. these quick drawings get transferred to larger scale paper pieces to be painted, cut and pasted onto a prepared wood panel. the result is a contradiction, like ourselves, done and undone all at the same time.
