Lorenzo Ramos Benítez Cardedeu, Barcelona, 1970 STATEMENT The most recent works which I am working on, are inspired on the designs of wallpaper, the tiles and the ceramic floors that decorate our houses. These prints are placed on the surface of very different places. Most of them remain outdoors; are parts of empty building sites and are the unique elements that remind the buildings that were constructed on them. Now they delimit an open space that is going to be won over by nature and will allow it to return gradually. An essential part of my creation process lies in the compilation of those decorative materials with artistic value that have signs of domestic life. With the help of Manila paper, the graphite and coal pencils, the engraving inks, the gouache, the craft papers and the latex, I can reinterpret these vestiges of intimacy and reconstruct the collective memory of the daily life of those people that inhabited those demolished homes.
