About The Artwork
This piece is a meditation on many colors. Every color sample uses only imagery from flowers. I tried not to anticipate my collage placement, and let the piece unfold naturally. The state of the world right now is divisive, depressing and sometimes, downright scary. This piece was created to allow the viewer to have a moment with their breath. I want to provide my audience with an instant to consider the simplicity and complexity of color, to acknowledge that it can be both loud and quiet, expansive and contracting. There is more beauty in this world than ugly.

Sue Fox is a mixed media artist from Chicago living in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2003, and has shown extensively in Chicago, Portland, and throughout the United States. Her work largely focuses on meditation thru color exploration. She has been published in Studio Art Magazine, and was one of GenArt Pulse’s 2010 “three artists to watch. Sue Fox also works as founder and curator of ShapeShifter Gallery a contemporary moving gallery that features quarterly shows throughout Chattanooga.
