Indigenous people, animals and plants are all striving to not become extinct in a world where the politics that govern ourselves and the planet become less and less transparent. I look to nature for guidance and a sense of well being. The process of this piece began with a graphite and watercolor creation of the barn owls that live in the forests in my area. The rich texture of the trees are created with collaged bits of images of bark & litter that I clean up off of scenic highways, as a gentle reminder that if we do not stop trashing the planet, trees will not grow from our garbage in the future. Layering watercolor, collage, graphite and color pencil, I work to create an aesthetically alluring painting with a deeper message about protecting our forests. This piece has been mounted on wood panels and finished with two coats of archival satin varnish, creating a very contemporary yet natural appeal. The edges are finished with varnish as well, but left natural and often display drips of paint from the process. No framing required. This is a Diptych. Left panel is 24H X 36W Right Panel is 24H X 24W To learn more about Linda Klein and view other works by this Artist please visit: www.lindakleinart.com

Linda Klein, a nature-loving artist hailing from the Bay Area, California, embarks on a soulful journey that harmonizes realism and abstract expression. Unveiling her artistic flair in preschool, Linda's earliest creative adventures prompted her parents to enroll her in local art classes—a bid to save their home from toddler graffiti and nurture her burgeoning talent. Nestled in the wild beauty of West Marin since 2019, Linda draws inspiration from her surroundings. Her artistic evolution mirrors the diverse landscapes she calls home—ranging from detailed graphite drawings to vibrant, ecologically themed pieces infused with recycled collage elements. Linda's unique process involves mounting watercolor paper onto handcrafted wood panels which are often created by her equally talented woodworking husband. This technique imposes a modern eco-conscious approach that bypasses traditional framing. Linda's art is a personal reflection, resonating with the rhythms of nature. With an unwavering commitment to continuing her creative education and a dance between documentation and new realities, Linda Klein's journey is a deeply personal ode to the beauty of our planet. Art Studio tours are offered daily in the artist's San Anselmo, California home.
