Palermo Collage

Themed generally in black and white which gives the overall texture the piece its power, these torn posters were ripped from the streets around the Vucciria and Porta Nuova areas of Palermo, Sicily. This work for me in part reflects perfectly the famous Vucciria market with the steam from the cooked food, the noise of the music at night and the vibrancy of this area. Perhaps a little rough around the edges but still remarkable and utterly intoxicating, I hope the viewer of this art work sees and feels something of this amazing city in this. The ripped and torn posters are mounted on cardboard which I love to do as it adds another level of texture and an authentic billboard look.
