About The Artwork
I wrote a poetry collection entitled "Plumb." It is a concept that runs deep -- the notion of order versus disorder, or meticulousness versus anarchy. This piece grew out of the same subterranean preoccupation. The mixed materials add up to a scene that almost defines itself but not quite -- the hints of forest; the child, perhaps lost; the irregular metal grate (fencing?) that's just off-kilter; and the plumb line that's working to pull it all into order.
