Artist Matt Klinn (née Oleg Koloskov) was born in Dnipro, Ukraine. He studied physics and engineering at DSU, Drnipro (then Dnipropetovsk). He moved to Hungary in 2001 and became involved with the local post-art scene, specializing in audio experiments. In 2010 he started exhibiting under the name Matt Klinn with the Talci gallery in Ljubljana. That same year he participated in the Raoul Wallenberg association, Budapest. Other solo exhibits followed for Matt Klinn, including at the Telep and Tűraktar Galleries in Budapest (2011), at the Art-kvartira in Dnepropetrovsk (2012), the „Lenin” Art Gallery in Zaporizhya (2013), Art Market Budapest (2014), and the Mosszolit Gallery in Budapest (2015). In 2013 and 2015, he conducted performance art pieces at the La biennalie di Venezia International Art Exhibition. The first Biennalie performance inspired the formation of the Budapest- based SRAC art group with Anna Zaboeva, which draws inspiration from mainstream art practices as well as the guerilla art movement in the dynamic construction of socially conscious art projects. The SRAC group provides an outlet to channel Matt Klinn’s dedication to communal projects, and he has worked in conjunction with several groups for installations at Art Market Budapest as well as with the Ukranian Cultural Center in Budapest. His latest exhibition at the Ukranian Cultral Center Fragmentum Continua (November 2016-January 2017) not only debuted several new series of paintings, but was also a retrospective representation of his past politically-minded works. In 2018, Oleg moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Since then he has had his works displayed at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art, Anchorage; the University of Alaska, Anchorage; and Oleander Contemporary Art Gallery, New Orleans. He has multiple exhibits scheduled around Anchorage in 2020, including at Catalyst Anchorage.
