Art Description

Collage: Paper, Paint, Wood, Household, Pencil on Wood.

I CREATED THIS PIECE DURING AN AGITATED POLITICAL TIME, SO TO SAY THE BEGINNING OF THE 'GREEK CRISES'.
IT SHOWS THE MIXTURE OF THINGS HAPPENING AT THAT TIME, TOURISTS STILL COMING BUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE AGGRESSIONS IN THE CITY. IN THE CENTER I PUT A CHICKEN ON A BAKING TRAY. OR AS WE SAY HERE 'KOTOPOULO STO FOURNO', THIS IS
VERY TYPICAL GREEK DISH. FOOD WAS SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE HOPED TO REMAIN WHILE LOOSING MONEY, WORK, ETC. GREEKS MOSTLY COME FROM FARMING FAMILIES, EDUCATION IS A LUXURY, THE FOCUS IS ON SIMPLE PLEASURES LIKE FOOD AND MUSIC.
STO FOURNO MEANS IN THE OVEN AND IS MY REFERENCE TO THE HEATED TIMES WE LIVED IN WITH ANARCHISTS DESTROYING THE CITY, CARS BURNING AGAIN AND AGAIN...
