Series of collages created from the original clippings from the 1950-ties and 1960-ties erotic magazines, combined with photos of atomic explosions from the Cold War era. The installation embodies a contest-area of two opposed, but entangled and inseparable forces: libido and destrudo, creation and destruction, life and death, Eros and Thanatos. This battle happens as much in a micro scale, every day within everyone of us, as on a greater scale between people, societies, cultures and countries. As we are now closer than ever to the looming spectre of renewed civil war which becomes for some, more and more alluring, this seemingly vintage collages reflect very much on a present situation.

I’ve always had a fascination for the psychological aspects of life, the reason behind every deed, the definition of the truth. Both in my private and professional life I constantly analyze the border between subjective and objective, individual and collective, illusion and reality”. Dellfina Dellert is an interdisciplinary artist, two time recipient of a grant from the Polish Ministry of Culture and the National Heritage. In her works she explores the innermost areas of human nature, focusing frequently on of sexuality, especially in the context of identity and self-acceptance. She is strongly inspired by a depth psychology of C. G. Jung (dream analysis, archetypes, shadow, alchemy, individuation). Very often she uses her own body as a medium. She works also as an independent journalist, screenwriter and director. She often collaborates with human rights and public interest organisations. To promote sexual health and wellbeing, she co-created Femmera, the first online social networking service for women focused on exploration and development of their sexuality (2013-2015). Among the supporters were Betty Dodson and Cindy Gallop. She also created and hosted programs for TV, radio and internet on the subject. In 2019 together with a sexologist Andrzej Depko she wrote a book: “Crime and sex. Who are sex offenders and how they work”. 2001-2009 she was working with a Swedish artist Thomas (Dellert) Dellacroix. Combining his interest in history with her fascination with human nature, they created their own utopian world, where they balanced on a thin border between reality and illusion. By re-enacting different personalities and historical events they explored subjects like fame, image, and originality – in the context of collective memory and popular culture. Dellfina has lived and worked in London, Barcelona, Stockholm and Paris. Currently she is based in Warsaw, Poland - her home town. Fun facts: Dellfina was a Muse for the Nenukko’s “Full Circle” 10th anniversary collection, premiered at the Tokyo Fashion Week, Autumn 2018. Dellfina & Dellacroix had a band Dejavu performing English adaptation of Serge Gainsbourg songs. They were produced by an A-list producer, Graham Massey. Large format self-portraits of Dellfina were used as stage sets for Don Giovanni, Folk Opera production, Stockholm. She was an elite gymnast performing for 9 years artistic gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics.
