About The Artwork
What/who inspired the work? The colors of the stickers made me always so happy since there is such variation of it and it is an instant satisfaction of having the bright colors around and with a finished work right away in front of you. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? Embedded with the possibilities and color combinations. That it becomes a joy to look at and brings warmth in the heart. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? The uncontrolled nature of the stickers once I out one little dot on the paper… I have no idea what will be the outcome of it… and it is as surprising for me in the end as the viewer as well that never been part of the process. That is really satisfactory for me and also makes me want to continue to explore possibilities within such small-medium - stickers.

Rejane is an award-winning designer and artist with a history of iconic work. She has 23 years experience in graphic design and branding, including stints at renowned agencies such as Wolff Olins (UK) and Studio Dumbar (NL). The intention to make art is to loose within myself. I give a certain amount of rules for example, I pick a certain colours and a certain rhythm of how to continue the pattern, will it be continuous? Up and down etc? I set a few rules and let this rules takes my control and at the end of the process I am as impressed with the outcome as I would not be the artist… It is a surprise for me. I am enjoying the process not knowing if the peace will be successful… and sometimes I have to wait a few days to get used to the results since I did not necessary predict or envision it happening. It has been such an amazing journey to produce and work within this tools and rules creating a surprising freedom of control.
