This piece is about unity, shapeshifers and innovators, the search for freedom and the longing for connection. I called it Tara as in Tara, the goddess (the female Bodhisattva) of liberation, appearing in the shape of the woman that is cycling though infinite universes. The imagery is as always symbolic and comes from old pictures from Britain but also from images from Montserrat, the holy site close to Barcelona, Spain. This is a piece on a canvas, so I’ve used pieces of paper and paint on a canvas.

I am a serial creator: a musician and visual artist of Dutch/German origin. I have produced a lot of very diverse work like songs, dance-tracks, solo piano music, ensemble pieces but also collages, poetry and educational ‘Freedom’ tote bag. Despite this I still feel like I have hardly begun. As a visual artist I am self taught and work intuitively but as a work starts to take shape, I add proportionality, immense detail and hidden messages. I consciously try to contribute to the beauty in this world and don’t care if a piece takes me forever. I am not a beginner anymore and as I have evolve on the journey of life, I now understand that I am a receiver of energy and grace; a translator of creative/primal force. A storyteller who sometimes uses the medium of image and at other times sound or words. Originally a jazz singer and rock n’ roll freak trying to live outside the ‘normal’/mundane world, I still have a phobia for authority and am actually scared of obedient people. After two nervous breakdowns and a million boyfriends, I am now a yogini who is still addicted to doing what I love. That this is often difficult in a culture obsessed with materialism, appearances and competition, which continually broadcasts messages of fear, lack and limitation doesn't surprise me anymore. Although I have been a critical thinker and have been ‘awake’ for many years, the last four years of global tyranny and manipulation have shown how easy it is to set people up against each other. This was scary but has only convinced me to become even more truth full and stay deeply rooted in the only real thing: God aka Love. Aka the fantastically beautiful and mind-blowing ocean that we are continuously swimming in filled with joy, fun, hope, adventure, humour, kindness, fellowship, justice, creativity, vision, abundance, ecstasy, solidarity, compassion, connectedness, expansion, revelation, blessings, miracles, wisdom and freedom. Tyranny, totalitarianism, conformism, monopolies, bankers wars, greed or ‘the gleichschaltung’ are not only immensely boring but also very limited narratives, and I will never shut up and tell other stories. Change always starts with a minority and all solutions are hidden in the problems themselves; we can be the aerials to extract them. I currently live as a global nomad, a grateful freestyler living in a paralel universe of infinite riches. Namaste fellow space travellers!
