ABOUT THE ARTWORK

After having fun and playing with words for so long, this sequence of words just came into my head. As a parody of all the eye-catching headlines, I love imagining headlines and then the possible story behind it. This artwork is also about the shape, form and beauty of letters and what better way to appreciate this than to hand cut each one. The depth of the shadow behind the letters and then placed in contrast to the bright ripped posters behind with their fragmented texture of news, gives this piece the strength, energy and vibrancy it was intended to have. This artwork is also about humour. We are bombarded constantly in the media by fear and it is my sole quest to alleviate that with a series of headlines that inspire fun and a little joy. (By the way, the sheriff was found not guilty)
