Art Description

Collage: Paper, Paint, Acrylic on Canvas.

My work is centered on my strong passion for color. It is an intuitive process to recollections of memories and is influenced by my daily life and nature. I am inspired by pattern and rhythms around my surroundings. My bold abstract prints are monotypes using block print inks, built up in many layers and richly textured with additional elements of collage and hand drawing. My work has evolved using vivid colors and bold abstract shapes and lines to express my emotions and feelings. I am currently focusing on mixed media and printmaking, working on a new series titled “Intermission”. I explore new techniques in revisiting a theme many times.

This work is from the “Intermission” series. It is a collection of different size and patterns of circles and round shapes. The power of colors and their interplay, rhythm and direction, all these elements flow together as a dynamic whole. Each circle shape is unique and shows different colors, textures and layers. It is just like how each one of us is unique and we all have different points of view.

This is a collage work, bleeding tissue papers, washi papers, markers, and mixed media. Each circle is so colorful, layers on small cut and/or ripped pieces of different papers to make it as a whole. They can also represent small things in life. Its how the viewer sees or perceives the meaning of each element.
The larger pieces are delivered either in a shipping flat box or rolled in mailing tubes. Some of my works are custom framed, some have no frame, but matted, etc. Please feel free to look at my entire online portfolio. For details on the frame and/or any artwork, you may contact artist directly. If there is work that catches your eyes or you like a lot, but the size or orientation (vertical/horizontal) is not quite right and what you are looking for or in need of, you may contact the artist or customer service for getting a custom-size painting for your space.

Also, If you would like to see details of any painting, you may request closed-up images of any part you want or sections of detailed views of any work. My studio is located at Hardy and Nance Studios nearby downtown Houston, TX. I do custom works based on your needs and requirements.
