About The Artwork

This collage is inspired by found vintage photos and ephemera that I assembled to create a visual narrative. Using vintage book covers, manila folders, vintage photos and more, I create intuitive arrangements that the viewer can study and visually write their own story. Books tell stories that are linear and concrete. My story is visual, fluid, and subject to a more flexible narrative. As a maker of books, I use materials that are the remains. The edges of a torn text block, the rippled edge of torn paper faded images, these are my "paints". Matted in white and framed in a lightweight black edge frame, image size is 16" x 20" and frame size is 20" x 24". Collage materials are all adhered to the book cover then adhered to white archival paper. Main colors are red, cream, white, black and light blue. This work would work well with contemporary and/or traditional interior design spaces. The nostalgic yet contemporary work can hang on it's own as a statement work or in combination with other framed works of art.
