Art Description

Collage: Other on Cardboard.

I live in a place full of oil and plastics industries near Gibraltar but in Spain. My family didn't have much money and in summer we could not travel much. I used to go with my sister and my parents to a beach called Guadarranque which was perfect for children because the water did not cover, but these industries were around us, with large chimneys expelling smoke and gas burning from the oil. I remember when I came home, our feet were full of tar and my mother cleaned us with cotton and olive oil.
For me these huge figures ejecting crap were like big monsters near us, killing slowly. Today, still there (

This artwork is made with pictures from the place, taken in december (2011), mixing acrylic and spray over cardboard.
