About The Artwork
I collect plastic off the beach near my home. Most of the plastic is faded or damaged. I build large collages of cities, faces, oceans from trash and I also teach kids how to create art from waste materials. This is a very high impact work which can be displayed vertically or horizontally. I am personally concerned with waste that is deposited into our oceans and on the other hand when a product becomes eroded and degraded it acquires an innate beauty which comes from natural aging.

I live in Cape Town. I paint in oil on canvas and combine it with found things - I also work with clay, collages, encaustic and other mediums. I work completely from my head and own imagination with hardly any or no reference material at all. My background is in architectural interior design. I am interested in texture and the effect of light on the subject. I am influenced by my travels, recently I have ventured into candle-making and produce my own ceramic vessels for my candles.
