ABOUT THE ARTWORK

acid free papers and Nori paste, acid free mat, acid free backboard, cello sleeve A chine colle collage of assorted archival papers including reproductions of antique bird engravings and background handprinted paper, vintage Japanese paper with mica flecks, and antique map fragments. Each collage print is one of a kind. The chine colle process is an old technique of collaging to an acid free base sheet using archival paste and then (traditionally) overprinting with an etching or relief plate. Plate mark at 7x9", adhered with Japanese Nori paste onto a base sheet size 10x12" and matted with an acid free off white mat and back board size 11x14", ready to frame and in a protective cello sleeve. 11x14" is a standard size for easy framing. Collage will be matted with an acid-free off-white mat and put into a cello sleeve and then carefully wrapped in a cardboard box.
