Energy Triptych Collage

I have a pension for saving things that interest me. I am drawn to metal objects both shiny and new or weathered and rusted. Often times I find a washer or piece of metal in the street and save it for a future collage. Black and white photos are powerful to me and the dancer was given to me by a student in my collage workshop. I also re-purpose paintings that I feel were unsuccessful and rip them up into different shapes so I can include them in a collage. This particular artwork is called Wind Energy because I think wind turbines are so sculptural and beautiful. In my stack of images to use for collage, I ran across an article on wind energy with photos of the turbines and incorporated them into my compositions. I hope the work poses more questions than answers for the viewer. It is about making a strong artwork from re purposed materials and finding beauty and strength in combining objects.
