A American abstract artist living in Germany. My paintings feature versatile colouring and interesting textures. I describe myself as an experimental artist because I work with so many different materials and like to experiment with paint and use things other artists don’t use… trying to make them one of a kind. I paint with acrylic paints and I try to use water-based paint, so I can easily mix the colours. I usually don’t work with a paint brush, I mostly work with a large spatula and a regular spatula pounding the paint onto the canvas. To give it a hidden effect I also use a drip paint technic. To give my paintings an old reclaimed wood look I use chalky paints to create the shabby chic effect, I just love things that look old and vintage. I also like to experiment with different materials for example I used crinkled cardboard and added paint to it, to create a 3D effect for the painting. I also like working with a variety of different media such as duct tape, wallpaper, deco patch paper and cut out paper which can be employed in different ways. With all these techniques I have created pieces of art, which are open for interpretation. I feel that a painting should be a canvas for your imagination, so that you can create a story of your own. My primary goal when creating my artwork is to breathe life into what I do. One of my practices is to make sure that I dont stay locked up in the studio for too long. I get out, explore the world and other forms of art for inspiration. I think this balance helps to keep my creative energy fresh and exciting. Art can help us grow, heal our hearts, excite our senses and inspire new ideas. Its one of the most valuable gifts to society.
