This abstract landscape work is a response to the patterns and textures found in nature.

In this collection of work I've been delving deeper into the visual language of dots, lines and circles that I have been building over the years with my abstract landscape work, in this case the lines. Weaving the paper strips together to form a patchwork of mark making suggestive of a rural landscape seen from above, the lines like the plow marks in the fields.

The surface of the work is not completely flat, areas of the weaving are raised up to create a more three dimensional, sculptural feel.

Jennifer Bell's artwork is an invitation to enter a world of colour, texture and detail. Her unique artistic vision is influenced by a rare neurological condition, visual snow, that enhances her perception of patterns and manifests as a constant overlay of dancing dots, flashes of light, and vivid colours. This condition, speculated to have affected historic artists like Seurat and Van Gogh, and contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, infuses Jennifer's creations with a dynamic and energetic quality. Repetition is a crucial element in her work, with the use of repeated abstract marks and shapes serving to depict the constant visual noise she experiences. This distinct perspective provides a glimpse into her unique view of the world, drawing inspiration from both microscopic details and expansive aerial views. Her distinctive style features bold colour palettes and intricate patterns that transform visual noise into stunning abstract representations. With almost 30 years of dedicated studio practice and prolific experience as a designer and illustrator, Jennifer holds a degree in Fine Art and has a rich background spanning art direction and running her own gallery. In 2004, she shifted from managing a physical gallery to showcasing her artwork online. This transition not only broadened her reach - connecting her with collectors across continents - but also afforded her the freedom to travel extensively. Her work has found homes in private and corporate collections in more than 70 countries, from Australia and New Zealand to North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Today, Jennifer is based in her sunny Brisbane studio, where she continues to inspire and engage audiences worldwide. Her work, represented in private and corporate collections globally, is celebrated for its ability to capture the beauty hidden in the visual chaos of everyday life.
