In 2004, she enrolled in Akdeniz University Fine Arts Faculty Cinema TV department. In her first year, she received foundational art education from Azeri painter Serhad Rzaev. Started her first collage works during this period. Her love and passion for art of collage came to light with her admiration to Federico Fellini’s “Juliet of the Spirits”. She may not be able to direct such a great movie but she could reveal same feelings through collage. After graduating from university in 2008, she moved to Istanbul and started to shoot music videos. She founded her own production company, Akaylar Production in 2011 and continued her professional career as a documentary director and producer. In this period, she shot the first fashion documentary of Turkey, “100 Years of Fashion” for TRT. In 2014, she participated in many international film festivals with her documentary “My Wish is Peace” on child rights. She continues her documentary career with her new project called “I am Also Here”. She started her collage works again indefinitely in 2014. She never approached collage as a hobby. Collage became an integral part of her life, as important as her documentary career. Her documentarist views and cinema education provided her collage approach an interdisciplinary dimension. She builds her materials on creating an ambience by approaching the paper or canvas she works on as a film scene. She started working on a collage project called “Mio Fellini” in 2015. Project is consisted of 11 works and they are being created from inspiration of 11 Fellini movies. One of the works is being conducted collaboratively with Italian collage artist Francesca Belgiojoso. She aims to turn this project into an exhibition by the end of 2017. The artist holds two separate characters in herself; she conveys here realist side through documentaries and conveys the world, which she cannot tell on screen, and her dreams she wishes to see in real life, through collage. Collage is the most beautiful way of conveyance that can create different universes by combining materials, dreams and expression. A form of deep breathing.
