In a world where the sky kissed the earth and gravity was a myth, there existed an enigmatic banquet held in the upside-down realm. The guests, adorned in their finest attire, dined on tables suspended from the clouds. A flamingo, with feathers of the most exquisite coral hue, gracefully danced mid-air, its long neck weaving through the floating tables. It was not just a bird but a mystical creature that connected both realms. Every year, as tradition dictated, it would ascend from its earthly abode to join this celestial feast. The guests were mesmerized by its elegance; it was believed that witnessing the flamingo dance would bring a year of prosperity and good fortune. Amidst laughter and clinks of champagne glasses echoing in this inverted world, boundaries between reality and fantasy blurred; for on this night under the starlit sky reversed - anything was possible.

Martine Mooijenkind, also known as Knutseltroep, is a self-taught collage artist and graphic designer from Gouda, The Netherlands. She creates surreal collages using vintage materials and digital techniques. She also works as a care attendant for the disabled . Her artworks have been published in various magazines and online platforms. Mooijenkind started making collages in 2010, when she discovered a box of old magazines in her attic. She was fascinated by the images and stories from the past, and decided to cut them out and rearrange them into new compositions. She soon developed her own style, combining elements from different sources and eras to create surreal scenes and characters. Mooijenkind uses both analog and digital methods to create her collages. She often scans her cut-outs and edits them on Photoshop, adding filters, textures and effects to enhance the mood and atmosphere of her works. She sometimes incorporates her own drawings and photographs into her collages, creating a personal touch. Mooijenkind draws inspiration from various sources, such as music, literature, cinema, nature and dreams. She is influenced by artists such as Hannah Höch, Max Ernst, and Salvador Dali. She likes to explore themes such as identity, memory, nostalgia, fantasy and absurdity in her works. Mooijenkind has exhibited her collages in several venues in The Netherlands and abroad. She has also participated in various collaborative projects with other artists and organizations. Mooijenkind is currently working on new collages and projects. She hopes to share her passion for collage art with more people and inspire them to unleash their creativity.
