1-MAD - Apples are blue Artwork - Limited Edition of 30

This manifesto is made up of a series of 20 photographs and 15 drawings, with a marked and subjective point of view, which give the convention that apples are blue. This fictitious and surrealistic story is a representation, with a touch of humour, of so many myths in the history of humanity and in our culture that have been changing our lives. We could say lies from a logical and empirical point of view but which have been integrated and naturalised in our cultures as truths. A parody of the false stories of political and economic corporations. There are so many things that exist, just by instauration, in our societies that also, if you want, apples can be blue and that is true. CONCEPT A myth is an idea that although endorsed by the majority is empirically false. In a deeper sense, myth serves as a story that orients and moves people. The focus of myth is not the relationship of the story to reality, but its function. A story cannot function unless it is held as true by the community or the nation. REALIZATION Over the course of more than a year I took many photographs, where the aesthetic idea matured and I found the desired point of view. I looked for intimate images, where natural light plays a fundamental role to give prominence to the apples and create a realistic atmosphere. The aesthetic and compositional sense is inspired by documentary photography and fashion photography. This is due to the influence of my master photographers and those I admire, from whom I learn and give me inspiration in each work. The photographs were taken in 35mm analogue format, after development. The negatives were scanned in high resolution to be worked on, in digital post production, the colour of the apples. The 15 drawings that make up the series were made in 2024.
