Milk and Honey (Milch und Honig), Edition 1/10 Artwork

The work is inspired by the artist’s German poem Milch und Honig whose text and translation are found at .mp3. It consists of two downwardly and one upwardly connected, multicolored shape(s) standing against a background shaded in variations of blue. In terms of the poem, the image answers the poetic I’s yearning for a comprehensive YES, -- the full acceptance by others which is rarely experienced – by harmonizing all of its colors with a field of blue. In addition, it conveys a feeling of “sinking into safety”, conjuring up simultaneously the image of the fictional island Atlantis, a spiritual world. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.
