OBSERVE MY PAINTING PROCESS: .youtube.com/watch?v=ovilQfjc4Dc&feature=youtu.be ABOUT THE PAINTING: This work is the third painting created in my new fine art series called ‘The Mystics of Montenegro’, which is a growing body of paintings that I began creating in 2023 upon settling into my new residence in an ancient seaside village in Montenegro. (‘The Mystics of Montenegro’ series itself has a total of 10 works, all of which are now available on Saatchi for purchase.) INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTWORK: This artwork is hand painted using Old Master painting techniques on a digital screen and then using the Giclée technique, the painting is converted onto museum- quality Hahnemühle German Etching paper as the final physical artwork. It is an exclusive one-of-a-kind, 1 of 1 artwork and will never again be produced in this size or on this type of paper.—This means you will be the sole collector of this fine artwork worldwide. INSPIRATION: This medieval ruin located high up in the rugged mountains of ancient Niksic in central Montenegro, I first stumbled upon on one of my long afternoon walks whilst living there for a month in February 2020. I was instantly captivated by its echoes of history and the beauty in its dilapidation and etched the scene in my mind as an artwork to remember. To the right of the piece is an ancient abandoned church on the hill, and to the left, an old stone house where a lovely elderly lady lives alone with her little dog. She asked for a lift into town as I was leaving. She wore all black. When revisiting the site again recently in preparation of painting it for this series, the landscape had dramatically changed with the time and seasons, from all grey, to all green and the lady was gone. All that remained unchanged was the echoes of the past.
