So, these two men which I have used are real people, the one of them on the first plan is a German soldier, who has died during ww2 in Russia frozen to death and then arranged in this position stuck in the frozen ground upside down. During the war there was such a ridiculous game between the Russian and German soldiers to arrange the dead frozen bodies in comical ways. In this particular case, it is the body of a German soldier placed by Russian soldiers in this way. The figure in the background is the dead, frozen body of a famous North American Indian chief who lived in the 19th century and died in battle right on the battlefield defending his land from white invaders.
