"After the Fire" Drawing

This drawing is of a raven perched in a dead tree accessing the damage from a forest fire. This piece was drawn from burned tree charcoal that I found after the Eagle Creek fire of 2017 in the Columbia River Gorge just a mere few miles from my home. I wanted to make a statement about the impact of this fire not only to human residents of the is area but also to its wildlife. I won 2nd place for this piece at "2019 Best of the Gorge" at Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, Oregon. My drawings are done on a custom made wood panel. Sometimes as I did with this piece I paint a little white on the panel and then sand it off to let the grain show through. This piece is ready to hang. Each original piece I do has a certificate of authenticity included.
