About The Artwork
I enjoy painting people who have no special features or distinct qualities. I enjoy this because I am also an ordinary person, and so in a sense they are me, and I am them. When I paint these figures I use acrylic; I splash, spray and drip the paint in order to to add texture and personify the uninteresting figures in an interesting way. I paint this way not in order to be aesthetically pleasing or live up to a certain standard of beauty. I do it in order to create an outlet of inner creativity and personality; my paintings are an outlet for me artistically. So while I am painting I feel enlightened and happy.
