Bamburgh Castle Drawing

This is an ink drawing of Bamburgh Castle. I was inspired by the deep history of the location to capture what I could see in a striped back from allowing me to view the castle as a single entity, removed from its surroundings. My media of choice is ink drawings because I feel the simplicity of the classic fine liner pen allows both fine details that add individuality and sweeping shapes that only hint at the true object they represent leading to a focus on the aspects of the image that I as the artist choose. All my pieces are created using lightfast fine liner pens on smooth finish paper that has been handmade in the UK. The art piece is on A4 paper but only takes up the very centre of the page as represented in the image.
